The Elements

Zovu

Many translations include IPA phonetics using square bracket notation (“[]”).
See
Phonetics for details on Zovu's spoken language.

The vast majority of Zovu’s vocabulary is derived from a set of 16 elemental morphemes: the combination of 4 Flavors over 4 Classes.

Wave Matter Nature Spirit Class
Continuous Change Light Water Life Love
Instantaneous Change Heat Fire Death Will
Continuous Entity Gravity Earth Space Knowledge
Instantaneous Entity Sound Air Time Imagination
Flavor

These constituents combine to create complex morphemes for emergent concepts. Some examples:

Water + Space = [ziʒa] = Body of Water
Water + Life = [ziʒi] = River
Earth + Space = [zaʒa] = Land
Space + Earth = [ʒaza] = Space Below (Adj: Below)

As seen above, the chronology of the elements changes the word entirely. The primary meaning behind a word is held by the first morpheme, secondarily by the second morpheme, and so on. The word for “body of water” directly translates to “water of space” in English. A more relatable example:

Earth + Water = [zai] = Mud = “Earth of water”

Classes

The composing Classes be expressed as morphemes themselves (phonetically using the “[o]“ vowel). These Class Morphemes can be expressed independently and also combined with other classes and element morphemes:

Wave = [ɣo]
Matter = [ʒo]
Nature = [zo]
Spirit
= [vo]

Matter + Nature = [zoʒo] = Environment
Nature + Space = [ʒoa] = Symmetry
Nature + Life = [ʒoi] = Growth
Spirit + Gravity = [voɣa] = Ownership
